About the

Clinic
The idea of the Clinic came about in response to a desire by the Founders to create a place where the women of Gubrye and surrounding villages could come to receive compassionate, skilled, and knowledgeable care.
Whilst the hospital serving the area has taken extraordinary strides in reducing maternal mortality and morbidity, as well as implementing many important community projects such as safe water wells, the nature of having an overwhelming numbers of patients, means it is difficult to find time to truly give one-to-one, women-centred care. This is where the Clinic wants to change things.
With experienced local midwives who have worked in the area for many years, respectful, individualised care is at the heart of the Clinic's philosophy, encouraging, educating, and empowering women to understand and achieve their childbirth, and wider health, options.

With on-going fundraising, the Clinic was able to bring specialist under-5 and emergency care nurses on board, so alongside the Delivery Room, the Clinic is now also able to provide wider maternal and child health and first response emergency care. Still in line with the philosophy of the Delivery Room, patients at the Clinic are treated with kindness and respect, whatever their reason for coming.

Empowering women is a cornerstone of the Clinic. To that end, all clinical staff members are enrolled in either professional development or further education degree courses. Through educating the staff members, we believe the trickle down effects will be felt across the wider community.

Since moving to the new purpose-built premises in Tikimt 2010 E.C. (September 2018, G.C.), the Clinic has been providing high-quality care to the population of Gubrye and the surrounding villages, with on-going donations supporting free treatment for the area's poorest people.
