SOLAR POWER

The Clinic currently runs using electricity from the main grid, with a back-up generator used as and when needed. However, the mains electricity is not always reliable and the generator is not an ideal means of creating electricity, so the aim is to move towards a self-reliant, sustainable energy source.

The most efficient answer for the Clinic's current energy needs seems to be solar power. Advice and suggestions are welcome as to the most cost-efficient and appropriate way of harnessing three thousand hours of sunshine every year the Clinic has, including buying  panels, converters, and batteries, transporting them to the Clinic (6 hrs outside of Addis Ababa), and the subsequent maintenance.

FUTURE FUNDING
